Fundraising and Communications Executive (internship)

The purpose of this position is to assist TI Ireland implement our fundraising and communications strategies.

The work encompasses:

  • Identify new opportunities to fundraise (including identifying possible new donors)
  • Design, develop and help implement a fundraising campaign
  • Populate and maintain our donor database
  • Help establish and support communications and fundraising working groups and networks
  • Assist with our periodic newsletter
  • Help update web content and content for social networking platforms
  • Correspond with our members
  • Help maintain our PR and press contacts database
  • Help monitor trends and report on media coverage of TI and TI Ireland
  • Assist in the co-ordination of launches and events, and development of PR programmes and campaigns.
  • Help with general office administration (including receiving inbound calls) and any other duties that may arise from time to time.

The successful intern candidate will have:

  • Background and experience in Fundraising, Communications, PR or Journalism.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication and skills.
  • IT skills are essential (including familiarity with social networking techniques).
  • Some project management experience with ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a professional approach.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and consult where appropriate.
  • Legal training / background is a preference for this role.
  • An interest in anti-corruption and transparency issues.

The term is usually 6 months, following a successful probationary period of four weeks. In some cases we would consider a shorter time frame or an extension of the duration by mutual agreement between TI Ireland and the intern.
